The Canadian winter is long and tedious, and there are few things about it that I enjoy. One rare pleasure is waking up early in the morning, looking out the window, and seeing the trees capped in freshly fallen snow. The sun glows golden and for an hour or so it’s easy to forget how limiting the dead cold of winter can be.
