These photographs were taken on the first day/night we spent in our current house – the first house we’ve ever owned. We moved in not this past February, but the one before (in 2012), which explains that icy cold winter you can see going on from the window of what’s now our living room.
That night, even though we had a fully functioning bed in the basement apartment we were renting, we camped out on the floor of our soon-to-be bedroom. It was definitely nice, and I’d definitely do it again. There’s just something magical about a new space, especially when it’s completely empty. So much potential. So easy to let your mind wander, to imagine what it could be like.
Of course the morning after, we had to go back to our old apartment. But it was still a mighty nice way to spend the night.
