But getting close. We’ll be shipping out on the 11th, so real close.
We’ve done quite a lot of hustling to get everything ready to go before we leave. Have stuffed my childhood closet full of stuff we’ll want to pick up when we come back to visit Canada, have two suitcases packed, and most importantly, have Avery’s carrier & paperwork prepared for the flight. Now it’s just a matter of getting some last things stuffed into our suitcases and making sure all our ducks are in a row (for the umpteenth time). Cannot wait to finally be landed on U.K. soil – though even then I won’t be relieved until we have picked up Avery from the ARC.
Just a bit anxious, but my nerves have calmed down a bit today seeing as how we’ve got so much done and so little left to do (hell, we’ve even decided what we’ll be wearing the day of the flight). One more full day to do things is plenty more than enough. And if we forget anything, at least we’re at my mum’s so it’s not quite the end of the world. My parents have been as helpful as they possibly could’ve been throughout our getting ready to go. Definitely glad we moved in with them these past few weeks. And it’s also made Avery a lot more comfortable with other cats thanks to his time with Walker. Makes me a lot more comfortable with the idea of getting a second cat – but more on that another day.
I hope I will not have forgotten anything, but so long as all three of us are together and safe and sound at the other end, I’m not (all that) concerned.
